10 Remarkable CSS3 Features for Web Designing

As web designers, we are constantly on the lookout for new design technologies that will allow us the freedom to explore our creative skills. Improving user experience and the overall look and feel of a website is important to us, not only because it’s important for business advancement, but also SEO.

With CSS making its way into web designing, it gave us the much-awaited opportunity to experiment with various design styles. Now with CSS3, things look promising with increased flexibility of how websites could be presented. Of course, all browsers do not support CCS3, but then, cross-browser compatibility hinders a lot more than just design displays. Besides, the ease with which we can implement effects using CSS3 is a far cry for something like JavaScript plugin.

Understandably, CSS3 is gaining in popularity. It offers many new exciting features that can make your website appear supremely attractive. Although, not all of these features are essential to website functionality, users still expect designs to be pretty and professional. For example, a basic feature like menus can be made with rounded edges and submenus can have tabs, descriptions, etc. None of this is important to navigation, but overall, it makes a normally rectangular static menu look appealing.

Let’s us now take a look at some of the new CSS3 features that can take your website’s existing design a notch higher:

1.Multiple Backgrounds – Backgrounds should be attractive without overpowering business content like information, images, order buttons, etc. CSS3’s new features allow the designer to experiment with fresh, innovative backgrounds that improve the look of the site without taking away its branding quality.

2.Box-Shadows – The main content area could be made to appear like its fading or sliding into the website, or it may appear only upon hover. With CSS3, box-shadows are easy to implement without using a JavaScript plugin or creating duplicate images.

3.Shadow Texts – CSS3 allows implementation (drop) of a shadow beneath the html text so it appears stylish without being difficult to read.

4.Image Borders – With CSS3, designers can get rid of the plain, dull borders to replace with an image border that can be styled to compliment the image and enhance the overall effect of the page.

5.Rounded Corners – With CSS3, sharp corners can be replaced with softer rounds that look professional yet appealing.

6.Font Additions – CSS3 allows easy font additions. A new font file can be uploaded to the server and linked to the CSS file to create a font family.

7.Opacity – You don’t have to use a CSS filter or create a new image for this any longer. With CSS3, a simple input of an opacity number can get you the desired effect.

8.Transform – Now you can choose the size of your hover area through this CSS3 feature.

9.RGBA Coloring – You choose the opacity and amount of red, green and blue to suit your design without using any browser extensions. The days of hex colors are clearly over with CSS3.

10.Resize – This CSS3 feature allows users to resize elements using a resizing triangle.

Despite the many advantages of CSS, it continues to implement filters to showcase changes on screen. CSS can still be incorrectly interpreted on browsers like Chrome and Firefox. While some designers have excluded the use of CSS completely, there are those that continue to use it to fantastic results.

Corporate Identity Design

Corporate Identity is the most effective way to notify public and various potential clients about the organization and through interesting images, it becomes easier for us to attract their attention fast.

Corporate Identity defines the behavior of the company. It includes the logo designs, letterhead design; it is actually meant to combine design, management and business culture. It is mainly known as the brand or trademark as it helps in making company recognizable and its main motive is to obtain more and more clients.

A Corporate Identity is about making a business known. Through this you can transmit a positive image to stakeholders both within and outside the company. This is to be kept in mind that corporate identity provides the best recognition structure of the company so that people can know about certain services.

A design should try to express the story behind the company, should honestly convey what the company wants to attain and contribute.

About quality web design

Any business that has plans for success needs to have web presence. It represents your personal or business philosophy, your values, and the overall "look and feel" of who you and your company are. Even if it's nothing more than a simple website explaining your company, many customers will not even take you seriously if you don't have a URL that they can visit to learn more about your business. Fortunately, you can find many companies and freelancers who will design a quality website for your company.

How can I design a web site without hiring a professional?

You can do a few things to design your website without the expensive website design programs and without hiring a professional. If you know anything at all about designing a website, you can design it using Microsoft Word or Microsoft PowerPoint. Then convert the file to HTML format and save it to your computer as a webpage. You can then upload your design onto a webpage. If it is for a business, this should only be a temporary solution until you can get a professionally made website design, so your potential customers are not unfocused by the amateur appearance of your business's webpage.

The purposes of designing a website:-

A website can serve many purposes. The main reason, people want a website is because they have a service or a product to offer. Well-designed website will represent their business to a wider audience, as well as presents existing customers with updated information. With a website, the company's information and products are available to customers 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. It's also cheaper than printing out flyers, newsletters, and brochures. In the age of the World Wide Web, having a website designed for your business will help prevent you from being left behind.

What is bandwidth?

For simplicity, you can think of bandwidth as minutes on a mobile phone. Every month, you are allowed so many minutes on your mobile phone and then you get charged for it. The concept of bandwidth works in much the same way -- but with data instead of minutes. Your website server will allow a certain allotted amount of data to be transferred from your website each month. Every time a page visitor clicks on something on your page, data is transferred.

What are some things I should put on my company's website?

You should put as much information on your website as you can, as long as it's applicable to the subject matter of your business. The more relevant information on your page, the more impressed the customers will be -- and the higher your page ranking will be with the major search engines. You can put a wide variety of components on your website, including: testimonials from satisfied customers, a description of your services or products and a profile of your company's history. You can also put a list of FAQ so customers have a "quick reference guide" to concerns they may have about your products or services.

What about Flash websites?

Flash websites represent some of the latest technology in website design. But full flash websites are difficult for search engines to index, because search engines only read HTML code and page text. If the search engines can't tell what your website is about, they'll have a difficult time indexing your website for your particular keywords.
But it gives us a chance to really get creative with flash animations, dynamic pop up windows, and auto loading video clips. but they can often be very confusing to navigate, and they can also be very distracting to your visitors.
If your visitors get too distracted by all the flash animations, they will often get confused or frustrated, and possibly even irritated. Remember... irritating your website visitors is one of the quickest ways to get them to leave your website in a hurry.
